SolarGard offers industry-leading warranties on all architectural window films. To activate your warranty, follow these four steps immediately after installation:
Retain your original purchase invoice from The Window Place USA. This serves as proof of purchase and establishes your warranty start date.
Record the 10-digit roll number printed on the core of each roll used. This is required for all warranty claims and LEED chain-of-custody documentation.
Record the installation date, installer name, and glass orientation (North/South/East/West facing) for each window. This data is required for warranty validation.
For large commercial projects (>500 sq ft), submit SolarGard Form SK0322 directly to SolarGard via your authorized distributor. Contact us for the form and submission instructions.
Proper post-installation care is critical to ensuring the longevity and optical clarity of your SolarGard window film. Follow these professional guidelines to protect your investment.
Do not clean the film for 30 days after installation. During this period, the film's pressure-sensitive adhesive is still curing and bonding to the glass. Cleaning before full cure can cause bubbling, delamination, or adhesive disruption. Small water bubbles or haze visible immediately after installation are normal and will disappear as the film cures.
After the 30-day curing period, clean only with soft, non-abrasive cloths (microfiber recommended) and a mild, non-ammonia soap solution or plain water. Never use Windex with ammonia, abrasive scrubbers, squeegees with metal edges, or solvent-based cleaners — these will permanently damage the film's surface coating and void the warranty.
